Sr. PCB Reliability Engineer (Starshield)

X is actively developing technologies to enable human life on Mars and a future of space exploration. This role focuses on PCB reliability for Starshield, Space

X s program that leverages Starlink technology for government use with initial emphasis on earth observation, communications, and hosted payloads.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Own design and development of PCB stackups as part of new PCB designs
• Drive introduction of new materials, working closely with design engineers and the supply chain
• Create test plans and lead PCB reliability campaigns for volume production of PCBs for Starshield
• Manage DFM as part of design releases, process documentation, and communication between engineering and vendors
• Identify trends and opportunities to optimize product output, quality, and cost
• Provide feedback to engineering design teams to improve design for manufacturability
• Identify, root-cause, and implement corrective actions for reliability failures

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in materials science, chemical engineering, electrical engineering, or manufacturing engineering
• 5+ years of experience in PCB reliability or PCB fabrication

PREFERRED

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Experience working with PCB materials and PCB fab processes
• Knowledge of IPC manufacturing standards
• Experience conducting failure analysis investigations using tools such as X-ray, cross-sectioning, and polishing
• Knowledge of statistical techniques and methods (e.g., experimental design, process capability analysis)
• Demonstrated ability to analyze data and drive systemic improvements
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Pay range:

Your base salary and level will be determined based on job-related knowledge, education, and experience. Applicants with active security clearances may receive a differential where applicable.
