The Avionics Core Technician Team (ACT) is looking for an experienced Development Technician to design, document, build, and maintain a variety of hardware supporting HITL, Hardware Dev, Test, EEE, and EMI engineering teams across all vehicles.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Build test systems, electromechanical assemblies, and test fixtures
- Design and build electrical harnessing to be used in acceptance test and qualification of flight avionics
- Perform rework on PCBAs
- Design and document test systems and wiring diagrams based on engineer-selected test equipment and provided design intent
- Interpret engineering documentation and provide feedback to support completion of designs and documentation
- Read, interpret, and work from assembly procedures, schematic diagrams, bills of materials, and mechanical drawings
- Self-monitor work progress against area benchmarks and achieve on-time delivery of all work
- Assist with the development of production processes for first‑time production runs
- Support execution of qualification test campaigns by setting up tests and running software under engineering direction
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 1+ years of experience manufacturing wire harnesses or electro‑mechanical sub‑assemblies
- 2+ years of experience using electronics equipment (e.g., DMMs, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, power supplies, DAQs, etc.)
- Strong skillset in Warpdrive
- Experience debugging and root‑causing failures on printed circuit boards
- Experience in a fast‑paced environment working with flight or development hardware
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and teamwork skills
- Excellent attention to detail with outstanding work efficiency and accuracy
- Experience with PCBA soldering including soldering down to 0402 packages and high‑density ICs, jumper install, and dead bugging
- Experience manufacturing and troubleshooting test systems with guidance
- Experience with Atlassian tools including SVN, Confluence, and JIRA
- Basic knowledge of electronics theory and principles (e.g., Ohm's Law, power supplies, digital logic)
- Must be willing to work all shifts, overtime, and/or weekends as needed. Estimated start time: 1st shift (8 AM)
- Standing for long periods of time, climbing up and down ladders, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, repetitive assembly operations, and lifting/carrying are generally required
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs unassisted
- Ability to distinguish colors is required
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case‑by‑case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job‑related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
