Testing & Qualification Lead - Advanced Space Hardware

Employment Type:

Full-time

About the Company

The company develops and manufactures technologies that support long-term human presence beyond Earth. Current efforts focus on building robotic systems capable of producing critical resources in extraterrestrial environments, including power, water, and oxygen. The organization is developing advanced infrastructure solutions for future lunar and planetary operations.

The Role

The team is focused on advancing high-performance, cost-effective space power systems that support both commercial space applications and future off-world operations.

This is a pragmatic, hands‑on role requiring strong technical judgment, deep familiarity with qualification standards, and the ability to balance reliability, cost, and schedule considerations.

Responsibilities
  • Own internal processes for qualification and acceptance of flight hardware
  • Maintain environmental test plans and reference mission sets aligned with industry-standard space qualification frameworks and customer requirements
  • Coordinate execution of environmental testing activities internally and through external laboratories (e.g., thermal vacuum, vibration, thermal cycling, radiation, etc.)
  • Drive risk assessments, including FMEA/FMECA-style analyses and fault tree investigations where appropriate
  • Support failure analysis, root-cause investigations, and corrective/preventive actions
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in an engineering discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in reliability engineering, quality engineering, or test engineering for high-reliability hardware (space, aerospace, defense, or similar industries preferred)
  • Experience developing and executing environmental qualification and acceptance test programs
  • Strong judgment regarding test sufficiency and risk-based tradeoffs between cost, schedule, and reliability
  • Competitive salary plus equity participation
  • Paid time off
Eligibility Requirements

To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder)
