5 years of experience in weld engineering within an R&D environment.

Experience designing new weld processes for scratch.

Experience with designing TIG, MIG, and laser welding.

Experience with design transition from aluminum to steel weld engineering.

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Welding Engineer in Los Angeles, CA to join a rapidly growing aircraft manufacturer. Responsibilities will include: supporting weld shop development to support full scale welded assemblies, develop, optimize, and qualify weld processes and parameters for multiple welding processes including but not limited to laser beam welding, gas tungsten arc welding, resistance welding, gas metal arc welding, and plasma arc welding.

Support design, manufacturing, and materials engineering with root cause analysis, work closely with design, tooling, automation, and development engineers to improve welded designs for manufacturing, and set up welding qualification test campaigns and interpret mechanical testing and NDE results.

Support manufacturing engineers and welders on correct techniques in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Develop and implement improved process control where possible using test and NDE results as feedback loop.

Scope out new welding technologies that may be employed to improve rate/quality/efficiency.

The salary range for this role is on average between $138,550 - $187,450 a year.
