The Opportunity

A rapidly growing defense technology company is building advanced radar systems for demanding real-world applications and is expanding its Integration & Test organization in Hawthorne, California.

We are looking for a Radar Systems Engineer – Integration & Test to join a hands on team responsible for validating every radar that comes off the production line before it is deployed.

This is not a traditional manufacturing engineering position and it is not simply a software testing role. You will work directly with radar hardware, RF test equipment, software, Python based test systems, and system-level validation to determine whether complex radar systems meet their performance specifications.

The team is also developing an increasingly automated test pipeline that will allow trained technicians to execute more of the routine testing over time. As that system matures, engineers will have the opportunity to take on increasingly sophisticated integration, troubleshooting, test development, and new hardware validation work.

What You'll Do
  • Execute end-to-end hardwire testing of radar systems from initial setup through final pass/fail determination.
  • Configure and operate RF test equipment including: spectrum analyzers, power meters, oscilloscopes, signal generators.
  • Validate radar transmit and receive performance against defined specifications.
  • Evaluate spectrum allocation and RF system performance.
  • Interface with radar software and Python based automated test code during system testing.
  • Execute established test procedures while identifying and investigating unexpected system behavior.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot failures identified during testing using your RF, radar, and systems engineering knowledge.
  • Work with technicians and engineering teams to determine root cause when systems fail to meet specifications.
  • Record test runs and associated artifacts within the manufacturing software environment.
  • Contribute to the continued development and improvement of automated test pipelines.
  • Help make system testing increasingly repeatable and turnkey for technicians.
  • Support integration and testing of new hardware and system capabilities as they are introduced.
  • Collaborate with RF, hardware, software, systems, manufacturing, and integration engineers.
  • Help improve the overall throughput, reliability, and repeatability of the radar integration and test process.
What You'll Bring Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Physics, or another relevant STEM discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong Python programming skills.
  • Solid RF engineering fundamentals.
  • Hands-on experience using RF test equipment such as: spectrum analyzers, power meters, oscilloscopes, signal generators.
  • Experience integrating, testing, or troubleshooting complex electronic or RF systems.
  • A systems engineering mindset with an understanding of how hardware, software, firmware, and subsystems interact.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-intensity engineering and production environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to make technically sound pass/fail determinations against specifications.
Particularly Relevant Experience

Candidates with experience in radar systems testing, RF systems integration, radar verification, or RF test development are especially encouraged to apply.

Experience with radar or RF systems at organizations developing advanced sensing and defense technologies is highly relevant.

Experience Level

The primary target profile is approximately 3–7 years of professional experience, particularly candidates who have already worked hands-on with radar or RF systems testing.

Experienced RF/radar subject-matter experts with 15+ years of experience are also encouraged to apply, particularly those with deep expertise in RF test development, radar integration, or complex RF systems validation.
