Hybron is an advanced manufacturing company that is building lightweight composites at mass production scale. At Hybron, we have pioneered a new composites manufacturing process that enables complex, high performance composite parts to be produced 10-100 times faster than traditional manufacturing, at a fraction of the cost. We recently closed an oversubscribed $25M seed round, are backed by the Northrop Grumman Technology Accelerator, and are rapidly growing to commercialize and mass produce composite products at a scale never seen before.

Our current focus is applying our proprietary process to composite artillery shells, solid rocket motor nozzles, gas turbine engine components, and airframes. This is a full-time, in-person role at our El Segundo pilot facility. As you will be working at an early-stage deep tech startup, this role will span many different tasks. You will need to be a self-starter and be adaptable to performing many different jobs. As such, this role involves building the foundation of Hybron’s quality function by leading the effort to establish a quality management system and becoming AS9100 and ISO
9001 certified. You will be responsible for ensuring that every part that leaves Hybron meets high quality standards as part of a lean, rigorous, and effective quality program. You’re a great fit if you are comfortable wearing many hats, approach quality as an enabling function, and work exceptionally well in cross-functional roles in companies that prioritize engineering and product.

• Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain a Quality Management System
• Demonstrated ability to achieve ISO
  9001/ AS9100 certifications or experience owning significant portions of these programs such that full ownership is a reasonable expectation
• Experience with NDT for advanced materials, including CT, UT, tap testing, etc.
• Non-conformance and MRB experience, including analyzing composite defects (delamination, porosity, fiber/resin richness) and driving corrective action
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering or science field (Composites, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing, Materials Science, Polymer Science, etc.)
• Willingness to be hands-on, including with part-level testing and inspection
• Must be a US Person pursuant to the EAR and the ITAR definitions and able to work in-person at our facility in El Segundo

• Experience working with fiber-reinforced polymer composites materials and manufacturing
• Supplier quality experience: qualifying suppliers and enforcing quality flowdowns (both to and from Hybron)
• Experience with relevant QMS software and adjacent production tools (MES, ERP, etc…)
• Strong problem-solving skills, with a drive to deliver on ambitious schedules, even and especially if unconventional & creative solutions are necessary to do so

• Experience operating relevant equipment such as metrology instruments, including laser scanners, CMMs, DSC, TGA, etc…
• Experience with composite molding technologies such as compression or injection molding
• Six Sigma and/ or Lean certification
• Experience with taking products from zero to one at a small company

• Grow and lead a quality team as we begin to manufacture at scale
• Own Hybron’s quality program, systems, infrastructure, and roadmap
• Calibrate the team’s capabilities to increasingly rigorous standards and regulations as we grow capabilities and product lines

• $130,000 - $190,000 per year
