OSI Systems is seeking a Sr. Cybersecurity Engineer to be based in our Hawthorne, CA office. This individual will be involved with cybersecurity engineering projects along with day‑to‑day security operation tasks to achieve information security long‑term goals.

Responsibilities
  • Designing enterprise‑scale cybersecurity solutions in alignment with information security strategy.
  • Engineering, implementing, and monitoring security controls for the protection of networks, systems, data, and endpoints in a multi‑cloud environment to mitigate security risks.
  • Working with IT infrastructure, IT applications, IT compliance and governance teams to implement controls.
  • Conducting risk assessments of M365, AWS, Azure and third‑party SaaS services and making recommendations to mitigate risk.
  • Identifying and defining security requirements for business and IT projects; analyzing, reporting, and assisting in the management of security‑related risks, including reporting on outcomes and proposing further improvements.
  • Being a key member in responding to and triaging security incidents, guiding security operations and security engineers.
  • Performing service management for security platforms, including problem, change, configuration, and asset management.
  • Working with third‑party security service providers to ensure service delivery objectives are met.
  • Preparing and publishing standards, processes, and operating procedures.
  • Upholding the company’s core values of integrity, innovation, accountability, and teamwork.
  • Demonstrating behavior consistent with the company’s Code of Ethics and Conduct.
  • Reporting quality problems or defects to the manager or senior management for corrective action.
  • Accepting that duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet business needs.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in information technology combined with information security experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity in a hybrid cloud computing environment (on‑premise, AWS, and Azure).
  • Hands‑on experience in network security (firewalls, VPN, proxies, web application firewall, CASB, etc.), Windows and Linux systems security, cloud security (AWS and Azure), data security, endpoint security, and identity and access management.
  • Hands‑on experience in vulnerability management, configuration management, media protection, contingency planning, log management, and data protection methods.
  • Experience with M365 E5, AWS and Azure threat detection and response techniques.
  • Hands‑on experience implementing NIST 800‑171 and ISO 27002 security control frameworks.
  • Familiarity with web‑related technologies (web applications, APIs, etc.) and network/web protocols.
  • Thorough understanding of security principles, techniques, and protocols including defense‑in‑depth, network segmentation, privileged access management, common application security flaws, and common ports.
  • Professional information security certifications such as CISSP, GSEC, CCSP, or CISM.
  • Proven ability to lead a project from start to finish on the technical side.
  • Previous experience in a global enterprise environment.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Problem‑solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to accommodate other time zones.
  • Availability for off‑hours support when needed.
  • Familiarity with standards such as NIST 800‑53, PCI‑DSS, HIPAA Security and Privacy Rule, ISO/NIST Risk Management.
  • Domestic travel as needed (estimated 10%‑15% of the time).
