Our OSI Electronics division is a diversified manufacturer of electronic devices and value-added manufacturing services for use in a broad range of applications, including aerospace and defense electronics, security and inspection systems, and medical monitoring and diagnostics.

OSI Electronics is seeking a Solder Operator. This individual will be responsible for following OSIE and/or Customer documentation to install surface mount and through hole components meeting required standards. They will also perform any required touch up, remove and replace components and any other type of rework.

Responsibilities
  • Hand solder through-hole and surface-mount electronic components, wires, connectors, terminals, and related hardware, including fine-pitch soldering under a microscope or magnification equipment to assemble, touch up, and repair small components and delicate assemblies.
  • Perform basic rework, component replacement, and correction of solder defects while visually inspecting solder joints, component placement, and workmanship for quality issues. Maintain department records and related production, quality, and traceability documentation accurately and on time.
  • Perform repetitive manufacturing and assembly tasks associated with electronic assemblies, printed circuit boards, cable assemblies, wire assemblies, and related sub-assemblies.
  • Follow production routings, work instructions, assembly drawings, bills of material, traveler documentation, and customer or product-specific requirements to complete assigned operations accurately.
  • Operator will perform but is not limited to the following duties: apply labels, attach components, apply adhesives, use adjustable torque screw drivers, understand torques required for determined screw/nut sizes
  • Use mechanical and hand tools such as adjustable torque screwdrivers, cutters, pliers, tweezers, fixtures, gauges, and small power tools to complete assembly tasks safely and accurately.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
    . Relevant work experience may be substituted for a degree.
  • 1+ years of experience working in a soldering capacity or manufacturing environment required.
  • Working knowledge of soldering, PCB assembly, component identification, and orientation required.
  • Ability to use small hand tools and mechanical tools, including torque screwdrivers, cutters, tweezers, pliers, and fixtures required.
  • Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, work instructions, and basic engineering documentation required.
  • Must be able to distinguish component markings, values, and polarity and perform detailed work under magnification when required.
  • Ability to perform selective soldering operations, identify good and bad solder joints, and determine critical points of assembly required.
  • Must have strong manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, attention to detail, and ability to work with small parts and delicate electronic components.
