MERCHANDISING SPECIALIST
The Merchandising Specialist is responsible for overseeing aspects of vendor management, merchandise development, customer service policies and internal premiums and products fulfillment. The position will work with the Merchandising Team to develop and produce merchandise products and apparel for Space
X and Starlink for internal customers and the general public.
- Interface with internal departments on future product generation and branding.
- Manage customer/internal product development process including sourcing, vendor management, PO issuance, and production.
- Initiate project workflows by issuing required documentation and ensuring clear objectives, timelines, and expectations across cross functional teams.
- Source and maintain relationships with best-in-class vendors.
- Manage day-to-day vendor relationships and production of goods including mission patches, soft goods, etc.
- Responsible for internal product distributions, gifts, events, and supporting employee customer service.
- Manage inventory, costs, and approvals for VIP, employee, and Events team requests.
- Coordinate internal communications to promote new product releases with site stakeholders.
- Create compelling visual merchandising plans for in-store displays for any on-site stores. Ensure visual merchandising plan is refreshed for each new product release.
- Plan and develop on-site retail activations and promotions.
- Supervise remote facilities merchandise store operations. Support the buying and forecasting to maintain inventory levels and consistent sell through.
- Performs other duties or special projects as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
- 5+ years of experience in merchandising and/or product development.
- Experience managing complete lifecycle of a product—from conception to delivery.
- Proven track record of establishing a network of production vendors; must have track record of developing merchandising and/or licensing agreements.
- Highly organized, detail oriented and possess a proven ability to thrive under deadline pressure and to execute on a number of projects simultaneously.
- Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and Figma.
- Demonstrated ability to execute many projects and tasks in parallel, across teams, in a short timeframe with the ability to pivot rapidly.
- Excellent written and verbal communications across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Must be willing to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed.
- Ability to lift boxes up to 25lbs unassisted.
- Must be willing to travel to vendors or other Space
X locations (up to 10%).
Pay range:
Level 1: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00
Level 2: $90,000.00 - $
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related knowledge, education, and experience. Base salary is one part of total rewards, which may include long-term incentives, stock options, discretionary bonuses, 401(k), health benefits, paid time off, holidays, and other perks.
