• Architect and develop software for an advanced, production-scale metal 3D printing system
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and physicists to integrate control algorithms into production software
• Improve and scale out petabyte-scale, high-rate telemetry, storage, and retrieval systems
• Apply computer science and engineering fundamentals to solve challenging algorithmic and optimization problems
• Develop high-performance compute solutions using GPU parallel processing
• Move fast, innovate, avoid over-engineering, be a good teammate, and stay flexible with new ideas

• 5+ years of professional experience in software development
• Proficiency in a systems-level programming language such as C++, Go, or Rust
• Experience with high-performance systems software such as high-volume telemetry, hardware control systems, real-time embedded Linux, or similar

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in computer science or computer engineering
• 10+ years of professional software development experience
• Experience building backend infrastructure, high-performance storage solutions, streaming processing systems, and workflows for scientific analysis
• Experience writing software for industrial automation systems, robotics, or related hardware
• Experience with operating systems, computer architecture, or similar internals
• Experience with computer graphics or geometry-intensive problems
• Experience as a technical lead, driving architectural decisions and mentoring junior engineers

• Salary is determined based on experience, education, and skills; includes significant stock options. Estimated salary range for this role is $150,000-$250,000, inclusive of all levels/seniority within this discipline.
