About the Role andAbout You:
The King Air 350 Check Pilot (Check Airman) plays a critical leadership role within Flight Operations. This position is responsible for training, evaluating, mentoring, and standardizing King Air 350 pilots, while also serving as Pilot in Command (PIC) during line operations.
The Check Pilots supports the growth and development of Advanced Air pilots through flight training, proficiency checks, line checks, and operational oversight, ensuring compliance with FAA regulations, company policies, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Flying assignments will support Advanced Air’s Essential Air Service (EAS) routes and on-demand charter operations.
This position reports directly to the Chief Pilot and works closely with the Director of Training and Director of Operations as required.

Responsibilities
- Conduct initial, recurrent, upgrade, and remedial flight training for King Air 350 pilots.
- Administer proficiency checks, line checks, and route checks as applicable under Part 135.
- Evaluate pilot performance including systems knowledge, SOP compliance, CRM, and decision-making.
- Provide professional debriefs and recommend corrective training when required.
- Ensure standardization of procedures, callouts, checklists, and profiles.
- Complete all training and evaluation documentation accurately and on time.
- Mentors and provides feedback to Company Instructors in order to improve the effectiveness of the Advanced Air training program.
- Support FAA observations, audits, and standardization initiatives.
- Retain final authority for the safe operation of the aircraft per FAR 91.3
- Ensure aircraft airworthiness and completion of required inspections.
- Maintain responsibility for aircraft security.
- Review flight briefs including weather, NOTAMs, and operating procedures.
- Comply with all FAA regulations, Operations Specifications, and company SOPS.
- Update flight and duty records and reports maintenance discrepancies.
- Perform a visual Pre- and Post-Flight (walk-around) inspection prior and after each flight.
- Assist the Pilot-in-Command during all phases of flight in accordance with operating P&P.
- Assume primary responsibility for the safety of the passengers, crew members, cargo, and the aircraft should the pilot-in-command become incapacitated or unable to perform his/her duties.
- Review thoroughly and brief the pilot-in-command specifically on all customer service items including, but not limited to passenger pick up, passenger drop off, communications requirements, and passenger catering.
- Have primary operational responsibility for successfully completing the customer service portions of each leg as outlined in the P&P manual.
- Comply with all Federal Aviation Regulations, Company Operations Manual, Operations Specifications, Standard Operating Procedures, and Company Policies and Procedures.
- Updated flight and duty records, determine eligibility for the next flight assignment and ensure any aircraft maintenance discrepancies are reported to the Captain and reported in accordance with operating policy and procedure.
