HAWTHORNE PUBLIC SCHOOLS HAWTHORNE, NEW JERSEY Salary: $15.92 per hour No Benefits approximately 3 hours per day

Position Title:

Non-Instructional School Aide

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED. Must be able to relate well with children of all ages. Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.

Reports to:

Principal or assigned supervisor

Performance Responsibilities:

• Communicates with students and school staff in a positive and professional manner utilizing appropriate interpersonal skills.
• Monitors students during breaks, lunch, recess and/or getting on and off the bus.
• Reinforces school-wide discipline procedures.
• Assists with main office tasks.
• Supervises the lunchroom during the school lunch period when the lunchroom is occupied by students. Assists with distribution of food/snacks, and other routine lunchroom procedures as may be required.
• Assists in monitoring children on the playground who eat lunch in school and those returning to school after off campus lunch. Reports lunch counts daily.
• Performs such other appropriate duties that may be assigned by principal or other assigned supervisor.

Terms of Employment:
Ten (10) months; compensation as established by the Board. Non-Instructional School Aide Approved by Board: 6/22/2021
