We are seeking a skilled Topside Builder who takes pride in fine woodworking and wants to be part of building some of the finest custom boats on the water.

What You'll Do

As a Topside Builder, you will be responsible for constructing, assembling, and finishing the visible structures that define the beauty and functionality of our custom wooden boats.

Responsibilities include:

  • Build and install decks, cabins, fly bridges, cockpits, windshields, and other topside structures
  • Cut, shape, fit, and assemble wood components using hand tools, power tools, and woodworking equipment
  • Apply veneers, custom inlays, and premium wood finishes to meet Stan Craft quality standards
  • Read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and design specifications
  • Install hardware, cabinetry, railings, hatches, trim, and other custom features
  • Ensure precise alignment, structural integrity, and exceptional visual quality throughout the build process
  • Work closely with electricians, mechanics, and hull construction teams to coordinate system integration
  • Perform sanding, fairing, sealing, varnishing, and other finishing work
  • Complete repairs, refinishing projects, and restoration work on classic wooden boats as needed
  • Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with design specifications and quality standards
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures
What We're Looking For
  • Strong woodworking and carpentry skills
  • Ability to read and interpret detailed plans, blueprints, and technical drawings
  • Experience using a variety of woodworking tools, machinery, and equipment
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to craftsmanship
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing to a team environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
  • Marine, cabinetmaking, finish carpentry, custom woodworking, or boat building experience is highly preferred
