Location:
Uxbridge Salary: up to £30,000 depending on experience Full-time, permanent We are recruiting an experienced Senior Residential Care Worker to join an Ofsted-registered residential home supporting adolescent boys with Learning Disabilities and Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) . Key responsibilities Provide high-quality, person-centred care that promotes the health, welfare and development of young people. Lead shifts and take responsibility for the operation of the home when required.
Act as keyworker for individual young people: contribute to care plans, reviews and transitions. Supervise, support and develop junior staff, including carrying out formal supervisions. Manage day-to-day household routines (cooking, shopping, appointments, activities) and support education participation. Apply approved de-escalation and behaviour-management strategies, record and report incidents appropriately. Maintain compliance with Ofsted standards, safeguarding procedures, and company policies. Contribute to a positive, inclusive culture that respects young people's social, emotional and cultural needs.
Working pattern Rolling rota: 1 day on, 2 days off , with a requirement of 12.5 shifts per month . The rota includes sleep-ins , which are shared across the team. Any shortfall against the 12.5 shift requirement will be scheduled within the same month. Person specification / requirements QCF / NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (Children & Young People) or equivalent (essential).
Proven experience working in residential childcare, ideally with young people with Learning Disabilities and EBD . Strong knowledge of safeguarding, childcare legislation and Ofsted standards.
Experience of supervising or leading staff and conducting formal supervisions. Good written and verbal communication skills and confident record-keeping. Ability to work calmly under pressure and to manage challenging behaviour. Flexible, reliable, and committed to professional development. Driving licence desirable (role may involve taking young people to appointments). Benefits Competitive salary £30,000 DOE .
