A substitute teacher in USD
489 is required to hold a Kansas Teaching Certificate, Standard Substitute License, or an Emergency License. An education degree is required for a Teaching Certificate and Standard Substitute License. The Emergency Substitute License requires a minimum of 60 semester hours of college credit from a regionally accredited college or university. Valid TB test results within the past 12 months are also required.
Compensation: $125.00 per day. Hours are as needed.
Upon completing the application, licensure will be reviewed, a background check conducted, and reference checks requested. Successful applicants will be contacted by Employee Services to complete necessary paperwork and added to the district’s list of potential Substitute Certified Teachers. Applicants are not KPERS eligible.
