Why You Should Apply

High Plains Mental Health Center is expanding its crisis services and wants you to join our Mobile Crisis Response team. You’ll respond to real‑time mental health crises in the community, providing in‑the‑moment support to help de‑escalate crises and help individuals find stability. This role focuses on short‑term impact rather than traditional case management with long‑term caseloads.

What You’ll Do
  • Respond directly to mental health crisis calls and meet individuals at their location.
  • Provide timely, compassionate on‑site support and act as a calm, steady presence during high‑stress situations.
  • Use trauma‑informed de‑escalation techniques to help individuals regain a sense of safety, control, and stability.
  • Work closely with a multidisciplinary crisis response team—including law enforcement, emergency services, and community partners—to ensure coordinated, person‑centered care.
  • Provide short‑term, impactful support designed to stabilize individuals in crisis and reduce unnecessary hospitalizations and emergency room visits.
  • Develop safety plans, identify coping strategies, and connect individuals and families to community resources and ongoing supports after the immediate crisis has passed.
  • Maintain clear, timely documentation of services.
  • Participate in required training for crisis response, trauma‑informed care, and safety procedures.
Why Join Us?

At High Plains Mental Health Center, we value compassionate care for our staff as well as our clients. Your work will have a real impact, and we support your well‑being, professional growth, and career advancement.

Qualifications
  • Equivalent work experience in human services (teaching, daycare, CNA, etc.) or a BA/BS degree. One year of related work equals one year of college.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Must pass a drug screen and all required background checks (KBI, KDADS, etc.).
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record in the past 5 years.
  • Physically and mentally capable of working in high‑pressure situations and responding to emergencies.
