Welding Technician

Operates Tig and Mig welders; ensures quality of all welds; maintains a safe working environment; contributes to team effort.

• Facilitates the fusing of production materials by Tig and Mig welding mild steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
• Understanding various weld form symbols on blueprints and understanding size of fillet forms.
• Welding both vertical and horizontal plane geometry.
• Understanding various edge preps before welding.
• Ensures the quality of all welds by using and maintaining the proper equipment for each weld.
• Examining work pieces for defects and measuring work piece with straightedge, tape measure, or template to ensure conformance with specifications.
• Adhering to ISO and FDA regulations.
• Maintains a safe working environment by attending safety training.
• Cleaning and maintaining a clean work area.
• Accomplish company and organizational mission by contributing to team effort and handling other duties as assigned assisting in the overall success of the company.

• Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
• This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Detail oriented.
• Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds required.
• Possesses solid working knowledge of subject matter.
• Ability to become qualified to perform Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time; up to 80% of day.

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 2-4 years of experience required.
