- Utilize the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes/planning, implementation, evaluation) to provide individualized care to residents.
- Collaborate with residents, families, and interdisciplinary colleagues (including providers) to plan, implement, and evaluate care.
- Provide care for residents in all phases of preventative care, health maintenance, diagnosis, and treatment.
- Coordinate care, conduct resident assessments, provide resident education, and perform various nursing interventions.
- May serve as charge nurse and delegate appropriate tasks to licensed and unlicensed assistive personnel within job descriptions, skills, and competence level.
- Provide assistance and support to delegates to ensure safe and reliable administration of resident care and resolution of care and service concerns.
- Operate within the scopes and standards of nursing practice as outlined in the Nurse Practice Act and Administrative Rules in the state of practice and licensure.
- Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program (e.g., CCNE, ACEN, NLN CNEA) preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
- Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring; multi‑state licensure within a Nurse Licensure Compact state accepted.
- Obtains and maintains required department‑specific competencies and certifications.
- Demonstrates competency and practices within full scope of nursing expertise/knowledge, applying age‑ and population‑specific standards as designated in the assigned clinical setting.
