Registered Nurse (RN)
Under the supervision of the nursing department's management, the Registered Nurse (RN) assumes responsibility for the nursing processes of assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation needed to deliver safe, evidence-based care within their scope of practice.
ResponsibilitiesCollects and assesses initial and ongoing data about the health status of the patient.
Initiates and/or revises an individualized plan of care that includes immediate and long-term outcomes for the patient/family and reflects the plan of the entire health care team.
Carries out interventions safely and in compliance with policy to facilitate achievement of expected outcomes.
Evaluates patient response to intervention/therapy based upon expected outcomes.
Provides patient education by:
Explaining procedures and medications.
Giving instructions at a level the patient can understand.
Addressing patient questions and concerns.
Verifying patient informed consent when indicated.
Documents and communicates all required components of patient care.
Provides direct patient care in the inpatient perioperative setting.
Graduation from an accredited Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), or Nursing Diploma program.
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse.
CPR/BCLS certification required.
ACLS certification preferred.
CRRN certification preferred.
Minimum six months of Medical/Surgical experience in an acute care setting preferred.
Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Initial and ongoing training in infection control, including but not limited to:
Bloodborne pathogens
Bodily fluids
Biohazardous materials
Training is tailored to the employee's daily work environment.
Frequent interaction with patients.
