Registered Nurse
Under the supervision of nursing department management, the Registered Nurse (RN) assumes responsibility for the nursing processes of assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation to deliver safe, evidence-based care within their scope of practice.
ResponsibilitiesCollect and assess initial and ongoing data about the patient's health status
Initiate and/or revise individualized plans of care with immediate and long-term outcomes for the patient/family, reflecting the input of the entire healthcare team
Safely carry out interventions in compliance with policy to achieve expected outcomes
Evaluate patient responses to interventions and therapies
Provide patient education regarding procedures, medications, and care instructions
Address patient questions and concerns; verify informed consent when indicated
Document and communicate all required components of patient care
Provide direct patient care in the inpatient Med Surg setting
Required:
Graduation from an accredited Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), or Nursing Diploma program
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse
CPR/BCLS certification
Preferred:
ACLS certification
Minimum six months of medical/surgical experience in an acute care setting
Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
Initial and ongoing training in infection control. Trainings may include, but are not limited to, blood borne pathogens, bodily fluids, and biohazardous materials as applicable to the daily work environment.
