Position: Full-Time Nursing Assistant

First Care Clinic is seeking applicants for a Full-Time Nursing Assistant!

Applicants must have full-time availability, 8:00am-5:00pm Monday through Friday.

Medical experience is preferred, but not required.

Licensed CNA or MA is preferred, but not required. On the job training is available.

Bilingual in Spanish is a plus!

The Nursing Assistant is responsible for performing clinical and clerical duties within his/her scope of practice throughout the clinic. These duties include but are not limited to, rooming patients, obtaining vital signs and medical history, and preparing patients for examinations and procedures.

First Care Clinic is a very busy clinic offering medical, dental, behavioral health, and pharmaceutical services. Therefore, applicants must have the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Strong computer skills are also needed to manage daily duties.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Greet and interact with all patients, staff, and visitors in a pleasant and professional manner.
Room patients and obtain the patient’s medical history, reasons for seeking care, and vital signs (plus height, weight, and head circumference).
Prepare patients for examinations or procedures including positioning, draping, shaving, and disinfecting treatment site.
Assist with exams, invasive procedures, and minor surgeries that are carried out by the provider.
Perform appropriate lab and diagnostic tests.
Ensure all rooms are equipped with appropriate supplies.

1. Knowledge of HIPAA privacy rules and regulations.

2. Must be able to document in a neat, legible manner and be able to spell medical terminology correctly.

3. Must exhibit initiative and sound judgment in the absence of specific orders.

4. Must exhibit professional demeanor by being helpful, courteous, and efficient when dealing with other employees or outside agencies.

5. Ability to prioritize tasks to provide appropriate, efficient, and quality patient care.

6. Ability to anticipate and react calmly in emergency situations.

7. Excellent customer service skills and ability to interact with unsatisfied patients and coworkers effectively and respectfully.

8. Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.

9. Strong time management, priority setting, work delegation and work organization skills.

10. Ability to follow written policies and procedures.

11. Ability to work independently and use good judgment.

12. Knowledge of standard office machines including copier, fax, multi-line phones, printers, scanners, etc.

13. Knowledge and experience with Microsoft and Office 365 programs.

14. Ability to work as a productive and effective team member, be flexible, and adapt to needs/priorities.
