We are looking for a safety‑minded, diligent, organized, hard‑working Class B candidate to manage the local delivery of chemical, fertilizer, and seed for a central distribution warehouse. The role also involves warehouse duties, equipment operation, paperwork coordination, and potentially managing future hires/driver‑warehouse workers as the business grows.
Responsibilities- Drive and deliver products while performing physical movement of inventory.
- Adhere to all legal and safety procedures and company policies.
- Coordinate safe, professional, and efficient deliveries to customers, including scheduling and communication.
- Ensure proper functioning and maintenance of all tools and equipment.
- Verify orders are correct, accurate, safely loaded, and ready for delivery.
- Operate box truck, forklift, and manual/electric pallet jack.
- Manage all required paperwork for shipments and returns.
- Complete regular safety and quality audits.
- Report defects, accidents, or violations.
- Handle occasional weekend shifts during peak season.
- Current Class B Commercial Driver Licence and clean MVR.
- Ability to obtain Tanker and Hazardous Material endorsements.
- Minimum 5 years of product delivery and distribution experience.
- Proven management of direct‑to‑customer deliveries (Final Mile).
- Knowledge of safety and legal documentation (MSDS, equipment checklist, BOL).
- Excellent leadership, administration, time‑management, crisis resolution, and decision‑making skills.
- Effective coordination with internal and external personnel.
- Clean/Pass DOT drug/alcohol test and physical exam.
Skills & Qualifications
- Certification or ability to be certified on equipment (forklift, etc.).
- Working understanding of a WMS system.
- Hazmat endorsement.
- Acceptable incident history.
- Compliance with safety regulations.
- Ability to safely handle equipment used to move inventory.
- Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations.
- Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather, etc.).
Salary:
The national average base salary range is $26‑$28 k, varying by geography. In addition to base pay, full‑time employees receive competitive total compensation packages that include equity, incentive/bonus plans, paid holidays (plus an additional floating holiday), work flexibility, parental leave, and a benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, wellbeing, short‑ and long‑term disability, life insurance, 401(k), HSA employer contributions, and more.
