We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join a fast-moving team in California. This contract opportunity with permanent potential is ideal for someone who can take ownership of a high-volume AP workload, manage invoice handling accurately, and stay organized under daily deadlines. The right candidate will be comfortable working independently, navigating a layered chart of accounts, and supporting timely payment processing in a dynamic accounting environment.

Responsibilities:

• Process a large volume of vendor invoices with accuracy, ensuring entries are recorded promptly and completely.
• Review, code, and match invoices to the appropriate general ledger accounts, cost centers, and supporting documentation.
• Prepare and assist with check runs and other payment activities to help maintain on-time disbursements.
• Investigate discrepancies in invoices, pricing, or account coding and work with internal partners to resolve issues efficiently.
• Maintain organized accounts payable records and documentation to support audit readiness and reporting needs.
• Manage daily transaction activity while meeting tight deadlines in a high-paced accounting setting.
• Work independently with limited supervision while providing reliable support to the accounting function.
• Use Quick Books or comparable ERP systems to enter, track, and monitor accounts payable transactions.
