The Role

The Construction Manager is responsible for overseeing residential construction projects across a defined geographic area. This role ensures Veev homes are built on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with company standards, local codes, and safety regulations. The position requires regular onsite presence at multiple, scattered homesites to monitor progress, resolve issues, and coordinate with trade partners. This role will also involve mentoring, training, and supervising Assistant Construction Managers, ensuring they follow company policies and procedures, and monitoring their progress throughout the construction process.

Responsibilities on the Team
  • Supervise and direct all construction aspects, ensuring quality standards and schedules are met.
  • Coordinate construction activities, from inception to move‑in, including scheduling and supervising trade partners.
  • Maintain compliance with building codes and safety regulations.
  • Oversee the construction process, including pre‑construction meetings, inspections, and final walkthroughs.
  • Manage documentation, including approving change orders, purchase orders, and safety logs.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure adherence to the SWPPP compliance program, as well as other quality standards, safety protocols, and cleanliness requirements.
  • Identify and resolve construction issues, delays, or quality concerns promptly.
  • Communicate regularly with homeowners, internal teams, and trade partners regarding project status.
  • Enforce jobsite safety practices and company policies at all locations.
  • Collaborate with the Customer Care Department to ensure timely completion of punch list and warranty items.
  • Inspect homes under construction to ensure work meets quality compliance and specifications and achieve timely completions and deliveries.
  • Coordinate with municipality inspectors for timely approvals of development phases.
  • Manage departmental performance against targets and budgets, adhering to policies and standards.
  • Manage Assistant Construction Managers, conducting weekly field/safety meetings and providing performance evaluations, feedback, training, and development.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related field preferred.
  • Experience in project/construction management in residential construction required.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, building codes, and inspections.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects across different locations simultaneously.
  • Willingness and ability to travel locally and be onsite weekly or biweekly at scattered homesites.
  • Strong organizational, time‑management, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Supervisory role experience preferred.
  • Intermediate knowledge of scheduling, budgeting, and document management.
  • Manual repairs are not permitted for this role.
  • Computer literate with proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft products (Word and Excel).
  • Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
Physical & Office/Site Presence Requirements:

This position requires driving from site to site, walking on uneven surfaces, regularly walking up and down stairs, being on your feet for extended periods of time, and ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. Finger dexterity is required to operate computer keyboard, calculator and telephone equipment.
