Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Estimator with a strong background in Steel Fabrication and Steel Erection. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of dedicated estimating experience and a proven ability to perform quantity take-offs, prepare competitive bid packages, review construction documents, and develop accurate cost estimates for structural steel and miscellaneous metals projects.
This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of commercial and industrial construction projects while collaborating with project teams, contractors, vendors, and stakeholders throughout the bidding process.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed quantity take-offs from construction drawings and project specifications.
- Prepare accurate cost estimates for structural steel and miscellaneous metals projects.
- Develop and submit complete bid packages within established deadlines.
- Review construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents to identify project requirements.
- Communicate with General Contractors, Owners, Architects, Engineers, and Vendors regarding project scope and pricing.
- Analyze material specifications, approved manufacturers, participation goals, and special project requirements.
- Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as needed.
- Assist with pricing analysis and bid strategy development.
- Negotiate project scope, pricing, and contract terms when required.
- Maintain organized estimating records, bid documentation, and historical cost data.
- Collaborate closely with project management and operations teams to support project execution.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on Estimation experience.
- Direct experience estimating Steel Fabrication and Steel Erection projects.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Quantity Take-Offs
- Bid Preparation and Submission
- Construction Drawings Review
- Cost Estimation and Pricing
- Structural Steel and Miscellaneous Metals
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- Experience working for a steel contractor, steel fabricator, or structural steel construction company.
- Knowledge of construction bidding procedures, procurement processes, and contract review.

Only candidates with a minimum of 5 years of dedicated Estimation experience in Steel Fabrication and Steel Erection will be considered.
