Position
Part‑time lecturer pool position. One or more temporary, part‑time lecturers to be considered for appointments as they become available for Fall Semester 2026, and/or Spring Semester 2027.
DepartmentThe Political Science Department offers an A.B. in Political Science with concentrations:
Pre‑Law, Public Affairs and Administration, and Traditional. It provides lower‑and‑upper‑division courses in political science and general education.
- Teach lower‑division or upper‑division courses in American Government (e.g., American Political Institutions, California Politics/Public Policy), Public Law, Political Theory, and Comparative Government.
- Assignments may include courses at Hayward campus, Concord Center, and/or online.
- Faculty members must perform duties within the state of California.

Lecturer. - Salary depends on educational preparation and experience; appointment is subject to budgetary authorization.
- Salary ranges for Lecturer academic year classification:
- AY (Range
2) – $5,507–$6,677 - AY (Range
3) – $6,221–$13,224 - AY (Range
4) – $6,825–$14,523 - AY (Range
5) – $8,593–$15,211
- AY (Range
- Anticipated hiring range generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range.
Fall Semester begins August 17, 2026;
Spring Semester begins January 19, 2027.
- Minimum M.A. in Political Science.
- Ph.D. in Political Science or J.D. preferred.
- University teaching experience required.
