Position: Masters of Social Work Extended Program Practicum Liaison (Temporary)

FACULTY EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY FULL-TIME, TEMPORARY, 12-MONTH LECTURER MASTERS OF SOCIAL WORK EXTENDED PROGRAM PRACTICUM LIAISON

The Practicum Liaison is a twelve‑month, full‑time appointment reporting to the Practicum Director.

Duties of the Position
  • Work with agency supervisors to maintain and develop practicum placements within the social work community.
  • Manage and supervise students conducting practicum work for all MSW students.
  • Coordinate and integrate practicum education for the Extended MSW program, ensuring compliance with CSWE standards.
  • Develop and implement a continuous, comprehensive practicum education program evaluation plan.
  • Recruit qualified agencies for student placements.
  • Jointly administer practicum‑related issues with coordinators of funding programs such as Title IV‑E and CalSWEC II grants.
  • Assist with the maintenance of files on practicum agency agreements and letters of understanding.
  • Participate, when necessary, in resolving problems occurring in placements.
  • Update and maintain the program practicum manual.
  • Develop and update practicum seminar syllabi.
  • Plan and implement training seminars for agency practicum instructors.
  • Attend faculty meetings and other relevant departmental or university meetings.
  • Interface with the social service community and surrounding universities to maintain and build the practicum education program.
  • Provide teaching, advising, and service at the departmental, college, university, and community levels.
  • Prepare to teach in‑person, hybrid, and/or fully online courses.
Rank and Salary

The salary schedule for the Lecturer – 12‑month classification is as follows:

  • Lecturer – 12 MONTH (Range 2): $6,288 – $7,658
  • Lecturer – 12 MONTH (Range 3): $7,127 – $15,211
  • Lecturer – 12 MONTH (Range 4): $7,830 – $16,697
  • Lecturer – 12 MONTH (Range 5): $9,883 – $17,490

The anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education and experience.

Appointment Dates

This is a temporary, full‑time, grant‑funded position through June 30, 2027, with the possibility of reappointment or extension.

Qualifications

• Hold a Master of Social Work degree from a CSWE‑accredited institution.

• At least two years of full‑time post‑master’s social work experience.

• Demonstrated experience in teaching, mentoring, and community service that supports diversity and excellence.
