Part-Time Fieldwork Supervisor Pool Position
POSITION AVAILABLE:
One or more temporary, part-time lecturers for a pool from which instructors will be considered for appointments as they become available for Fall Semester 2026 and/or Spring Semester 2027.
The Department of Teacher Education offers the Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and the Single Subject Teaching Credential in Art, Dance, English, History/Social Studies, Mathematics (all areas including Advanced), Music, Physical Education, Science (General and Integrated), Theatre, and Languages other than English (Chinese, French and Spanish). The Department offers four Masters of Science degrees in
Education:
Curriculum & Instruction, Educational Technology, Reading Instruction, and Early Childhood Education. The mission of the Department is to prepare teachers who are committed to improving school practices for California’s diverse student populations and who can model such practices in their own classrooms.
Supervisors will conduct both in-person and electronic visits to school sites in the East Bay to observe students during their fieldwork experiences in preschool through 12th grade school settings. They will complete a variety of assessment measures documenting each candidate’s mastery of California Teaching Standards and attend virtual supervisor meetings. Teaching assignments may include courses at the Hayward campus, Concord Center, and/or online.
The policy and expectation of the California State University is that all faculty members will perform all of their duties within the state of California.
Salary is dependent upon educational preparation and experience. The appointment is contingent upon budget and enrollment considerations and subject to order of assignment provisions. The salary ranges for the Lecturer‑Academic Year classification are listed below:

The anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education and experience.

All applicants must have a Master’s degree. The program selects individuals who are or were credentialed or have equivalent experience in educator preparation. Supervisors should be experts in the content area of the candidate being supervised and should have recent professional experiences in school settings where the curriculum aligns with California’s adopted content standards and frameworks and where the school reflects the diversity of California’s student population.
The program provides supervisors with orientation to the program’s expectations and ensures that supervisors are knowledgeable about the program curriculum and assessments, including the TPEs and the dTPA model. In addition, program supervisors maintain current knowledge of effective supervision approaches such as cognitive coaching, adult learning theory, and current content‑specific pedagogy and instructional practices.
