FACULTY EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
Part‑Time Lecturer Pool Position – Department of Mathematics, Cal State East Bay.
POSITION AVAILABLEOne or more temporary, part‑time lecturer positions for a pool from which instructors will be considered for appointments in Fall Semester 2026 and/or Spring Semester 2027.

DUTIES OF THE POSITION- Provide high‑quality active learning experiences in an inclusive and welcoming environment.
- Use department‑provided materials and adhere to coordinated elements for lower‑division courses.
- Utilize “embedded peer support” and effectively engage this resource as part of instruction.
- Collaborate with colleagues.
- Teaching assignments may include courses at the Hayward campus, Concord Center, and/or online; all duties are performed within the state of California.
Lecturer. Salary is dependent upon educational preparation and experience, and subject to budgetary authorization.
Salary Schedule (Academic Year, Lecturer):
- Range 2 – $5,507 – $6,677
- Range 3 – $6,221 – $13,224
- Range 4 – $6,825 – $14,523
- Range 5 – $8,593 – $15,211
The anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education and experience.
DATE OF APPOINTMENTFall Semester – begins August 17, 2026;
Spring Semester – begins January 19, 2027.
- Master’s Degree or higher in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or another relevant field, based on available courses.
Applicants must be lawfully authorized to work in the United States. Background check, including criminal, academic, and employment verification, must be completed and cleared prior to start of employment.
