One or more temporary, part-time lecturers for a pool from which instructors will be considered for appointments as they become available for Fall Semester 2026, and/or Spring Semester 2027.

The Department of Social Work consists of approximately 22 faculty including tenured and both full and part-time lecturers. It offers a Master in Social Work degree and is an accredited Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) program. The department admits approximately 100 students per year into two-degree options:
Community Mental Health (CMH) or Children, Youth, and Family (CYF). Please see the Department of Social Work Web site: http://(Use the "Apply for this Job" box below)./

Lecturers may be needed to teach in various social work curriculum sequences, including:

• generalist and advanced practice
• policy
• research
• field practicum
• human behavior & the social environment
• race, gender, and inequality

Please note that teaching assignments at California State University, East Bay may include courses at the Hayward campus, Concord Center, and/or online. The policy and expectation of the California State University is that all faculty members will perform all of their duties within the state of California.

The anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education and experience.

Fall Semester begins August 17, 2026;
Spring Semester begins January 19, 2027.

Applicants for practice courses must have an MSW and a minimum of two years of post-MSW practice experience. Applicants for research courses should have a PhD in Social Welfare or a related field; ADB will be considered. University teaching experience preferred.
