Founding Educator At Grace School With Alameda County Office Of Education
ATTENTION educators who thrive on innovation, student agency, and community-driven project-based learning… Help build a school from the ground up! We're seeking visionary founding teachers to join GRACE School as we launch a brand-new educational model at a beautiful location by Lake Merritt in Oakland. This isn't a standard teaching position; it's a rare opportunity to co-design a school alongside the very students you'll inspire.
What Makes This Role Unique
Co-Design the Vision:
We kick off with an innovative soft-opening this fall. One day a week, you'll gather in-person with students, utilizing inspiring spaces around Lake Merritt and ACOE offices in Hayward to lead project-based learning, build culture, and shape the school's identity.
360-Degree Support Model:
Throughout the rest of the week, you'll provide targeted academic support virtually and 1:1, continuous check-ins, and holistic care, working in tandem with dedicated mental health services, and engage in planning/preparation to open the Lake Merritt location in January.
School Grand Opening:
In January, we'll officially open our permanent physical location on Grand Avenue in Oakland by Lake Merritt. You won't be walking into a generic school with students you are meeting for the first time; you'll be celebrating the opening of a unique place with our students who you've built relationships with while co-designing the school. You will continue the deep community-driven project-based learning with our students at the Lake Merritt Location in-person, 5-days a week.
