FACULTY EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY DEPARTMENT OF MANAGEMENT Part-Time Lecturer Pool Position POSITION AVAILABLE

One or more temporary, part-time lecturers for a pool from which instructors will be considered for appointments as they become available for Fall Semester 2026,and/or Spring Semester 2027.

THE DEPARTMENT

The Department of Management offers course sand concentrations at both the undergraduate (BSBA) and graduate(MBA) levels in the following areas:
Human Resource Management and Organizational Behavior, Operations and Supply Chain Management,Strategic Management and International Business, Information Technology Management and Entrepreneurship. The department offerscourses in MS in Business Analytics program. The department has 28tenured and tenure-track faculty, and a number of lecturers.

DUTIES OF THE POSITION

Part-time employment teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses in the areas of Human Resource and Organizational Behavior, Information Technology Management, Operations and Supply Chain Management, Strategic Management/International Business, Entrepreneurship and Business Analytics combined with artificial intelligence (AI) leveragesmaching learning, data mining, and deep learning. Please note that teaching assignments at California State University, East Bay may include courses at the Hayward campus, Concord Center, and/oronline.

The policy and expectation of the California State University is that all faculty members will perform all of their duties within the state of California.

RANK AND SALARY

Lecturer. Salary is dependent upon educational preparation and experience. Position appointment issubject to budgetary authorization.

The salary schedule information for the Lecturer - Academic Year Classification is available based on the following ranges:

  • Lecturer AY (Range
    2) - $5,507 - $6,677
  • Lecturer AY (Range
    3) - $6,221 - $13,224
  • Lecturer AY (Range
    4) - $6,825 - $14,523
  • Lecturer AY (Range
    5) - $8,593 - $15,211

The anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education and experience.

DATE OF APPOINTMENT

Fall Semester begins August 17, 2026;

Spring Semester begins January 19, 2027.

QUALIFICATION

Minimum Degree Requirement:
Master’s degree(or equivalent) in business or economics. Ph.D. in business oreconomics preferred. Degree from AACSB accredited institutionpreferred.

In addition:
Have professional experience at the time of appointment that is significant in duration and level of responsibility, and consistent with area of teaching responsibilities.

Or:
With a research Ph.D. in business or economics, must have acurrent research record in the teaching field. ABDs must have completed exams in the last three years.
