Part‑Time Lecturer Pool Position
One or more temporary, part‑time lecturers for a pool from which instructors will be considered for appointments as they become available for Fall Semester 2026, and/or Spring Semester 2027.
The DepartmentThe Department of Economics offers courses at undergraduate and graduate levels in microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics, and a variety of subfields.
Duties of the PositionPart‑time employment teaching one or more introductory and/or advanced courses in Economics. Teaching assignments may include courses at the Hayward campus, Concord Center, and/or online.
Rank and Salary- Lecturer AY (Range
2): $5,507–$6,677 - Lecturer AY (Range
3): $6,221–$13,224 - Lecturer AY (Range
4): $6,825–$14,523 - Lecturer AY (Range
5): $8,593–$15,211
Salary will typically be at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education and experience.
Date of AppointmentFall Semester begins August 17, 2026 and Spring Semester begins January 19, 2027.
QualificationsMinimum:
Master’s degree (or equivalent) in business or economics. Ph.D. in economics preferred. Degree from an AACSB‑accredited institution preferred.
Professional experience that is significant in duration and level of responsibility and consistent with teaching responsibilities.
For research Ph.D. candidates: current research record in the teaching field. ABDs must have completed exams in the last three years.
