The RoleHEN Technologies is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to serve as our lead technical authority on complex electro-mechanical systems. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will act as a high-impact a "force multiplier" across our engineering organization. This is a role for an elite designer who can toggle between high-level strategy and deep-level execution on product vision to a hands-on deep dive in a Solid Works assembly in the same afternoon.
Key Responsibilities- Project Leadership: Own and execute the most technically demanding projects in our roadmap, involving complex mechanical assemblies with IoT-integrated controls.
- Cross-Functional Support: Interface with multiple R&D teams to provide bandwidth and expert guidance when projects reach critical complexity or hit technical bottlenecks.
- System Optimization: Refine designs for maximum reliability in extreme environments, focusing on the synergy between motors, gears, PCBs, and high-pressure fluid paths.
- Technical Gatekeeping: Lead rigorous design reviews across the engineering org, ensuring all hardware meets our standards for performance, safety, and DFM.
- Rapid Innovation: Lead the mechanical R&D for next-generation products, proving out concepts through rapid prototyping and advanced simulation.
- Experience: 15+ years of experience in high-complexity mechanical design, with a portfolio of shipped electro-mechanical products (robotics, fluid systems, or aerospace).
- Solid Works Mastery: Expert-level proficiency in Solid Works, including advanced surfacing, simulation (FEA/CFD), and complex assembly management.
- Domain Expertise: Deep knowledge of gear design, motor selection, fluid dynamics, and ruggedization for harsh environments.
- Communication: Ability to distill highly technical concepts for the CEO and executive team while being able to mentor and guide junior engineering talent.
- Education: B.S./M.S. in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
