This is a true hybrid role for someone who loves both engineering and customer interaction. As a Sales Application Engineer, you’ll act as a trusted technical advisor—working at the intersection of pre-sales engineering, cost estimating, and solution design
—to recommend the best food processing equipment for each customer’s application. You’ll size equipment, build cost models, create quotes and conceptual layouts, and support sales presentations that turn complex requirements into winning solutions.
- Learn and apply deep knowledge of food processing equipment and its technical advantages
- Size equipment using heat/mass balance and thermodynamics fundamentals
- Develop cost estimates using SAP data, design reviews, and statistical analysis
- Create quotes and support sales presentations
- Produce pre-sale Conceptual Layout Drawings using AutoCAD (2D) and Inventor (3D)
- Organize opportunities and workload using CRM tools
- Occasionally visit customer sites for meetings and measurements
- B.S. in Mechanical, Chemical, or related Engineering field (or equivalent experience)
- 3–5+ years in sales engineering, cost estimating, or similar technical role
- Strong fundamentals in heat transfer, mass transfer, and thermodynamics
- Experience with CAD (2D & 3D), P&IDs, and PFDs
- Mechanical aptitude and understanding of manufacturing methods
- Food processing or industrial equipment experience is a plus
