We are looking for a Director of Hardware Engineering to lead the physical evolution of our intelligent fire suppression ecosystem. The person needs to be a "Systems Architect" who understands how mechanical, electrical, and fluid systems must harmonize to create a life-saving product. Reporting to the CEO, you will lead a talented team of hardware engineers, working closely with our VP of Software and VP of Program Management to bring "Deep Tech" products from concept to the fire ground.

• Hardware Leadership: Manage the mechanical engineering teams. You will be the hardware architect, ensuring robust designs that survive extreme environments.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with the engineering and product leaders to define hardware/software interfaces and ensure engineering outputs align with customer requirements.
• Process Discipline: In coordination with the Program Management, you will implement structured hardware development milestones (design reviews, PDR/CDR, and validation testing) to ensure on-time delivery.
• Technical Mentorship: Provide deep technical guidance in Solid Works design, PCB layout strategy, and material selection.
• DFM & Cost Management: Ensure the hardware team designs for high-volume assembly and works aggressively with the Supply Chain team on "Design to Cost" initiatives.
• PDM implementation.

• Experience: 12+ years in hardware development, with at least 5 years in an engineering leadership role.
• Electro-Mechanical Expertise: Proven history of shipping complex products involving motors, gears, PCBs, and ruggedized enclosures.
• The "Bridge" Mentality: Ability to converse fluently with software teams about firmware/hardware integration while keeping a firm grip on mechanical physics.
• Tools: Expert-level understanding of Solid Works and a strong grasp of PCB design workflows (Altium, KiCad, etc.).
• Education: B.S./M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechatronics.
