Job DescriptionThe Product Quality Engineer (PQE) is responsible for ensuring the product performance and product quality information meets or exceeds customer expectations. The PQE monitors the manufacturing processes and improves the process and material controls necessary to maintain consistent product performance. The PQE must be able to communicate quality information clearly to customers to support the business. The candidate is expected to use statistical methods to ensure that product quality is maintained.
The candidate is expected to be able to perform quality troubleshooting with root cause investigation to resolve quality issues. This role is critical to the success of our business in an environment of ever-increasing customer expectations regarding product quality.
- Review intermediate & product control charts as part of the PCS (Process Control System) process. Investigate trends in product data, determine root cause, & implement corrective or improvement actions.
- Investigate & resolve OoC product parameters with batches in production
- Implement controls identified by FMEA for specific products - implement specifications, control limits & trend rules in SPC software.
- Investigate and resolve customer quality and performance complaints
- Respond to customer requests regarding specification improvements and information on product manufacturing processes (control plans, process flow, quality systems, etc.)
- Four-year degree in technical disciplines such as Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or Materials Science.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in at least one of the following areas: quality engineering, formulation development, analytical science, statistics, process engineering, chemical manufacturing.
- Demonstrated ability to solve problems of a technical nature
- Minimum of 2 years' experience using statistical techniques such as Statistical Process Control (SPC).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with strong attention to detail.
