We are seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure Engineer – End User Computing with deep expertise in Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) across hybrid environments. This role is responsible for the architecture, engineering, administration, optimization, and lifecycle management of enterprise desktop platforms, including Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), VMware Horizon, on‑premises VDI, and Microsoft Windows 365 Cloud PC. The ideal candidate brings strong hands‑on experience in virtualization, Windows server administration, and cloud‑based desktop platforms, with a focus on reliability, performance optimization, scalability, and security in enterprise environments.
This role operates at the intersection of data center operations, cloud engineering, and end‑user platform modernization, ensuring seamless digital workspace delivery to enterprise users.
- Design, deploy, configure, and optimize Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments across multi‑region Azure subscriptions.
- Administer and support VMware Horizon VDI, including connection servers, Unified Access Gateways (UAGs), instant clones, pools, and App Volumes.
- Implement and manage Windows 365 Cloud PC provisioning, policy management, and capacity planning.
- Engineer scalable, high‑availability VDI solutions aligned with enterprise SLAs.
- Lead platform upgrades, image lifecycle management, and gold image optimization.
- Administer VMware vSphere / ESXi clusters, including host configuration, HA, DRS, and resource allocation.
- Manage virtual machine provisioning, storage allocation, and performance tuning.
- Support hybrid infrastructure integrating on‑prem and Azure‑hosted workloads.
- Ensure proper configuration of storage (SAN/NAS), networking (VLANs, DNS, DHCP), and compute resources.
- Monitor VDI environments for performance, capacity, and availability.
- Troubleshoot user experience issues, including latency, profile corruption, login delays, and session instability.
- Conduct root cause analysis for complex VDI incidents.
- Implement proactive monitoring using enterprise tools and dashboards.
- Partner with security teams to implement zero‑trust principles in VDI environments.
- Maintain compliance with enterprise patching, vulnerability remediation, and hardening standards.
- Manage identity integration via Active Directory, Azure AD / Entra , and Group Policy.
- Support MFA and conditional access integration.
- Perform regular patching and upgrades of Windows Server, Windows 10/11 multi‑session, Horizon components, and AVD host pools.
- Maintain disaster recovery strategies and backup integration for VDI platforms.
- Develop and maintain runbooks, SOPs, and architecture documentation.
- Participate in incident, problem, and change management processes (ITIL‑based).
- Provide tier‑3 escalation support for VDI‑related issues.
- Mentor junior administrators and contribute to knowledge transfer initiatives.
- 8–10 years of experience in Infrastructure Engineering, Data Center Administration, or VDI Administration.
- Hands‑on expertise with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), VMware Horizon, on‑prem VDI environments, and Windows 365 Cloud PC.
- Strong experience with VMware vSphere / ESXi, cluster management, and resource optimization.
- Deep knowledge of Windows Server (2016/2019/2022), Windows 10/11 Enterprise (multi‑session), Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP.
- Strong understanding of enterprise networking and storage fundamentals.
- Experience troubleshooting performance bottlenecks in high‑scale VDI environments.
- Experience with ITSM tools and structured incident/change management workflows.
- Excellent documentation and communication skills.
- VMware VCP certification.
- Experience with FSLogix profile containers and application layering solutions (App Volumes, MSIX App Attach).
- Power Shell scripting and automation experience.
- Experience with Azure ARM/Bicep/Terraform for infrastructure deployment.
- Experience operating in 24x7 enterprise environments.
- Exposure to monitoring tools such as Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, vRealize Operations, Control Up, or similar.
- Hybrid cloud infrastructure expertise.
- Performance engineering and capacity planning.
- Structured troubleshooting methodology.

- Operational discipline and documentation rigor.
Enterprise data center and cloud-based infrastructure. Participation in on‑call rotation may be required. Occasional after‑hours support for maintenance windows or critical incidents.
