Issue Resolution Engineer

Our client, a leading innovator in autonomous vehicle manufacturing, is seeking a Issue Resolution Engineer to join their team. As a Issue Resolution Engineer, you will be part of the Manufacturing Department supporting Vehicle Engineering, Quality, and Operations teams. The ideal candidate will have strong problem‑solving skills, effective communication, and a proactive mindset, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Issue Resolution Engineer - Body & Closure Systems

Location: Hayward, CA

Pay Range: $77/hour + Benefits

What's the Job?
  • Lead triage, containment, and resolution planning for issues identified during general assembly and end‑of‑line testing across various vehicle systems.
  • Define and execute short‑term containment actions, including rework plans, part quarantine, and build flow protection.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally to conduct root cause analysis across design, process, supplier, and manufacturing domains, and drive improvements.
  • Support implementation of permanent corrective actions to prevent recurrence of issues.
  • Develop and maintain metrics, dashboards, and reporting to track issue health, closure rates, and recurrence, enhancing process efficiency.
What's Needed?
  • B.S. or M.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
  • 6-8 years of experience in automotive OEMs, robotics, aviation, or other complex hardware systems within manufacturing or product engineering environments.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle systems such as door systems, latches, actuators, sealing, access panels, glazing, and body structures.
  • Proven experience leading root cause analysis and corrective actions in production or field environments, including new product launch support.
  • Excellent cross‑functional communication and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to operate effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
