University Professor, College Lecturer
Part‑time lecturer pool position. One or more temporary, part‑time lecturers will be considered for appointments as openings become available for Fall Semester 2026 and/or Spring Semester 2027.
DepartmentDepartment of Accounting & Finance. Courses are offered at undergraduate (BSAA & BSBA) and graduate (MSA & MBA) levels. The department values research, professional development, and faculty excellence.
Duties- Teach introductory or advanced courses in accounting. Candidates should be proficient in at least one area of accounting, such as financial, managerial, business law, accounting information systems, accounting analytics, auditing, or taxation.
- Teach introductory or advanced courses in finance. Candidates should have expertise in personal finance, financial management, corporate finance, investment analysis, derivatives markets, risk management, international business finance, new venture financing, entrepreneurial finance, financial planning, or real‑estate finance.
- Assignments may be delivered in‑campus (Hayward campus, Concord Center) or online. All faculty duties will be performed within the state of California.
Rank:
Lecturer. Salary is dependent on educational preparation and experience and is drawn from the Lecturer – Academic Year classification ranges. The anticipated hiring rate is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range.
Fall Semester begins August 17, 2026. Spring Semester begins January 19, 2027.
Qualifications- Minimum:
Master’s degree (or equivalent) in accounting or finance, or J.D. in law. Ph.D. in accounting or finance, earned at an AACSB‑accredited institution, is preferred. - Professional experience at the time of appointment that is significant in duration and level of responsibility and consistent with teaching responsibilities.
- For candidates with a research‑based Ph.D., a current research record in the teaching field is required. ABDs must have completed required exams in the last three years.
