Job Summary

We are seeking a Banker, New Accounts/CSR for a direct hire opportunity in Hayward, CA. This in-office banking role is ideal for a customer-focused banking professional with teller experience, new account opening knowledge, and the ability to build strong client relationships.

This position supports branch operations by opening consumer and business accounts, processing transactions, identifying client needs, and recommending appropriate banking products and services. The role offers a stable branch environment, supportive leadership, positive teamwork, and the opportunity to grow within new accounts, customer service, and branch banking operations. Candidates may be considered at the New Accounts/CSR II, New Accounts/CSR III, or Senior New Accounts/CSR III level based on experience.

• Open and support consumer and business accounts, including checking, savings, CDs, IRAs, and applicable trust or estate accounts based on experience level.
• Interview and profile clients to understand their financial needs and recommend appropriate banking products and services.
• Cross-sell bank products, refer clients to internal partners, and support branch growth and profitability goals.
• Process teller transactions as needed while maintaining strong accuracy, documentation, and balancing standards.
• Ensure compliance with bank policies, account documentation requirements, BSA, information security, and applicable state and federal banking regulations.
• Provide professional, courteous service in person and by phone while resolving client questions, concerns, and account requests.

• Minimum of 10 CRA volunteer hours per year. Volunteer hours are typically scheduled during business hours, are compensable time, and mileage is reimbursed.

• Open new consumer accounts and support new account transactions from start to finish.
• Support business account openings based on experience level, including basic and complex business accounts.
• Process teller transactions, maintain account documentation, and ensure accurate system uploads.
• Cross-sell banking products and services while supporting customer retention and branch goals.
• Banking teller experience required, with 1 to 3 or more years depending on role level.
• Experience opening consumer accounts required.
• Experience opening basic business accounts required for CSR III and advanced complex business account experience required for Senior CSR III.
• Knowledge of banking regulations, including Bank Secrecy Act requirements and information security standards.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and banking systems or core banking programs.
• Strong customer relations skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients and employees.
• Ability to handle confidential information with sound judgment, accuracy, and professionalism.
• Strong multitasking skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced branch environment.
• Positive, service-focused approach with the ability to identify client needs and retain at-risk customers.

• Prior supervisory experience preferred for Senior New Accounts/CSR III candidates.
• Experience supporting treasury service needs such as RDC, check scanner, armored service, or courier service preferred for senior-level candidates.
• Experience handling escalated client situations, large transaction approvals, supervisor overrides, or branch backup responsibilities preferred.
• Beginner experience opening basic business accounts preferred for New Accounts/CSR II candidates.
