COMPENSATION: Licensed $80,142.70;
Master’s Level $68,679.97;
Non-Master’s (2nd Year) $60,094.32 (plus bilingual differential)
The Staff Therapist will maintain an active caseload of TEAM and ACCESS clients and meet monthly productivity goals; attend weekly group and individual clinical supervision; participate in weekly trainings as assigned by his/her clinical supervisor of LFCS Administration; and attend weekly Outpatient Mental Health staff meetings. The Staff Therapist will work within all compliance standards; complete documentation in a timely manner per LFCS policy;
and maintain strict confidentiality protocols. The Staff Therapist is also tasked with the responsibility of case management work. It is possible to accrue supervised clinical hours required for license as a MFT, LCSW, or Psychologist. We take pride in the high-quality training our clinic provides and are looking for a case manager interested in developing their clinical skills.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Makes psychological evaluations of assigned cases; determines appropriate diagnostic procedures and tests to be used; conducts clinical interviews with clients and other interested persons to develop information pertinent to diagnosis and treatment.
- Provides psychotherapy in group, individual, and family situations; provides case management services to clients and consultation to clinic staff members as necessary; interviews clients and families to gather social and psychiatric data; prepares mental health/environmental case histories for use in diagnosis; and participates in developing psychological treatment programs and case planning for clients.
- Meets with clients for regular therapeutic interviews; guides the client in understanding his/her illness and contributing personal, social, and economic factors; assists patients in developing realistic plans; advises clients on community resources; and makes referrals and other arrangements as necessary.
- Works with families of clients to elicit their cooperation in treatment programs or commitment and admission proceedings; collaborates with community agencies as required to assist clients in their treatment plans and in coping with environmental needs such as housing, medical care, and employment.
- Complies with all agency’s policies and procedures.
- Follows Short-Doyle Medi-Cal charting and documentation requirements and Agency regulations.
- Assists clients to find appropriate housing at local shelters, board and care homes, transitional housing and independent living placements in the community.
- Assists clients in applying for entitlements and managing entitlements.
- Attends weekly staff meetings, didactic seminars, and case conferences.
- Assists clients with locating and accessing needed health care and dental care.
- When necessary, conducts home visits and attends appointments with clients.
- Assesses client’s transportation needs and helps them access transportation support. This may include driving clients to appointments, helping them apply for bus passes, para-transit, and other types of transportation assistance.
- Collaborates with staff of local hospitals, board and care homes, shelters, day treatment programs, and other agencies in a friendly and professional way.
- Maintains timely documentation for clinical services as required by funding sources.
- Regularly reviews files and monitors activities of clients with follow-up contact in-person or via phone.
- If accruing hours toward licensure, the case manager has opportunities for providing individual counseling, family therapy, and group therapy.
