Job Summary
Full-Time (1.0) AM Shift APPROXIMATE PAY RANGE: $27.00 - $32.00
Admissions / Staffing Coordinator is a staff position whose primary role and responsibility is using approved staffing patterns and following contractual provisions to coordinate time schedules. Makes daily staffing adjustments as necessitated by employee absence and patient census. Completes California Department of Public Health (CDPH) daily posting forms and signature sheets. Admits residents; initiating and maintaining marketing programs; obtains referral information;
screens referrals; completes admissions process; resolves patient dissatisfactions.
- Analyzes contractual provisions and in accordance with staffing matrix, coordinates time schedule with unit Nurse Manager for all shifts. Distributes completed schedule after reviewing with Nursing Manager and/or Clinical Director.
- Assigns floats and per-dem staff to unit depending on daily census, acuity, staff capability and availability.
- Assists in maintenance of attendance records.
- Coordinate and obtain needed staff from supplemental help agencies. Maintains a record of staff utilized, verifies payment to supplemental help agencies. Maintains a record of staff utilized, verifies payment to supplemental help agencies and prepares a daily report to Director of Nursing Services.
- Prepares descriptive statistical reports on floating, use of supplemental help, productivity and non-productive hours. Alerts Director of Nursing Services to trends and staffing information. Prepares display charts and graphs.
- Prepare staffing worksheets for daily use for all shifts, in accordance with staffing.
- Processes all requests for changes in scheduled time (LOA's, changes in days off, etc.) and makes decisions, in collaboration with Nurse Manager, based on employee's needs, existing policies and staffing needs and discusses the decision with employee. Posts all changes on office schedule.
- Records vacation and holiday requests after verifying eligibility and hours due. Maintains records of action taken on all requests and fields of request to be included in scheduling.
- Manage daily staffing and ensure staffing to matrix, following both state and federal requirements.
- Maintains record of available beds; assists in the resident admission orientation program; admits and prepares identification records for residents; prepares all necessary documents.

Required QualificationEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
- California Certified Activity Director or Certified Recreation Therapist.
- Preferred: B.S. in Recreation Therapy.
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Preferred Experience:
Two years? experience as an Activity Director in a long-term care setting.
