Title: Logistics & Inventory Planner (Contract)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
Summary: Our client is seeking a Logistics & Inventory Planner to support the planning and execution of supply chain operations for its autonomous vehicle programs. In this role, you'll ensure the efficient, timely, and cost-effective movement of materials by managing inventory planning, purchasing, supplier coordination, and logistics activities that support manufacturing and service operations.
You’ll work closely with suppliers, logistics providers, Finance, and Operations to maintain material availability, resolve supply issues, and improve overall supply chain performance. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving complex supply chain challenges, and takes a proactive approach to inventory management.
Key Responsibilities- Plan material requirements and generate purchase orders based on production schedules.
- Manage inventory levels to ensure material availability while minimizing excess inventory and obsolescence.
- Coordinate with suppliers, logistics providers, and internal stakeholders to support manufacturing and service operations.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships while proactively identifying and mitigating supply risks.
- Coordinate domestic and international inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring shipping documentation is accurate and compliant.
- Optimize transportation methods and routes to balance delivery performance and transportation costs.
- Maintain Material Planning and Logistics master data within ERP systems.
- Monitor inventory health and proactively resolve material shortages and out-of-stock situations.
- Investigate supply chain issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Partner with Finance and Operations to support supplier payments, production goals, and logistics cost management.
- Travel up to 25%, including occasional international travel.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field preferred.
- 2–4 years of experience in supply chain planning, inventory management, purchasing, or logistics.
- Experience managing inventory, purchase orders, supplier coordination, and material planning.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple teams.
- Experience working with ERP, MRP, and/or Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
- Understanding of freight forwarding and international logistics.
- Demonstrated ability to identify process improvements and drive operational efficiency.
- Ability to travel up to 25%.
- Experience with SAP S/4
HANA. - Background in demand planning or forecasting.
- Experience working with third-party logistics (3PL) providers.
- Vendor and supplier negotiation experience.
- Knowledge of customs, brokerage, and export compliance.
- APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) certification.
