Engineering Maintenance Technician

Engineering Technicians are Amazon’s front line when it comes to hands‑on electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting. They will maintain, operate, and troubleshoot Data Center Operation’s mission critical facilities, which includes stand‑by diesel generators, related fuel systems, and three‑phase electrical systems such as switch gear, UPSs, PDUs, wet‑cell batteries, CRAC, centrifugal chillers, cooling towers and water chemical systems, air handlers, pumps and motors.

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers, servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on.

You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. NOTE:

Lump sum stipend will be provided to eligible candidates who relocate for this position.

• Supervise contractors who perform servicing or preventive maintenance.
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks, including filter changes, battery system PMs, rack and diesel generator PMs, and other preventive maintenance tasks.
• Perform root‑cause analysis for operational issues.
• Troubleshoot facility and rack‑level events.
• Ensure all personnel on‑site follow safety protocols.
• Work on‑call and on a rotating schedule as needed.
• Take daily operational readings and provide metrics reporting to senior engineers.
• Perform basic support concepts such as ticketing systems, root‑cause analysis, and task prioritization.

• All physical requirements are expected with reasonable accommodations.
• Walk job sites in uneven terrain.
• Work at heights and from ladders.
• Regularly walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 49 pounds; participate in group lifts for 50 pounds or more.
• Carry objects weighing up to 49 pounds for short distances.
• Work shifts longer than eight hours in duration.
• Respond to off‑hour emergency calls.
• Maintain balance and perform construction tasks while on a ladder.
• Coordinate body movements when using tools or equipment.
