Hayward, CA Pay Rate: $20.00 – $24.00 per hour
Schedule:
1st shift 6am-2:30pm & 2nd shift 2pm-10:30pm and 11:30am-8pm Gear Up. Clock In. Own It. Looking for Assembly Technician jobs in Hayward where teamwork and steady production make a difference? This opportunity lets you assemble products, inspect finished work, and help keep factory operations running safely, accurately, and efficiently. Core Assembly Responsibilities Assemble mechanical components and subassemblies according to work instructions and engineering specifications.
Gather required parts, tools, materials, and subassemblies before beginning work. Perform basic mechanical assembly operations. Operate hand tools, power tools, and bench tools safely and effectively. Install and connect components, cables, and harnesses (if applicable). Testing & Quality Control Perform helium leak testing and standard leak testing procedures. Conduct basic testing of completed assemblies and subassemblies. Perform minor troubleshooting when issues are identified.
Inspect work throughout the assembly process to ensure quality standards are met. Verify assemblies meet specifications before moving to the next production stage. Technical & Documentation Duties Read and interpret:
Assembly instructions Work orders Parts lists Blueprints Engineering drawings Schematics Follow detailed manufacturing procedures and documentation requirements. Use basic computer systems and software applications to support production activities. Team & Communication Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members. Report issues, defects, or production concerns. Support a safe and productive manufacturing environment. Work Environment Responsibilities Work in a manufacturing and/or cleanroom environment.
Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE). Follow safety procedures related to chemicals, electrical equipment, moving machinery, and other production hazards. Physical Requirements Stand or sit for extended periods. Lift up to 25 lbs independently and more with assistance. Frequently use hands, arms, and fingers for detailed assembly work. Perform bending, reaching, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, and grasping as needed. Ideal Candidate Background 1+ year of manufacturing or cleanroom experience.
Experience with assembly, testing, inspection, or technician work. Familiarity with mechanical assemblies, leak testing, and quality inspections. Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow written instructions. Basic computer skills and good communication skills. Education Requirements High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous assembly, manufacturing, or production training is beneficial. Experience Requirements Ability to assemble products or components according to work instructions and production standards. Ability to safely use basic hand tools, power tools, fixtures, or production equipment as required. Strong attention to detail with the ability to inspect completed work for quality. Ability to maintain productivity while performing repetitive assembly tasks.
