Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)

Location:

Monterey, CA

Shift: 9AM - 5PM (Hybrid - Travel to SNF facilities in Monterey while on-site)

Summary:

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners will support patients coping with psychiatric disorders including ADHD, mood disorders, anxiety, and others. They will evaluate patients before and during their care to monitor their progress and administer medications as needed. The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners will also collaborate with psychiatrists to provide the widest scope of care possible to patients. Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners should have strong communication skills to work effectively with other medical professionals and patients.

They should also possess a strong sense of empathy to understand their patients and provide specialized care.

Responsibilities:

Supervised by and working closely with the Director of Psychiatric Services , the job duties of the nurse practitioner shall include, but are not limited to:

• Conduct health assessments such as recording medical and psychosocial history

• Record symptoms and physically examine patients,

• Make diagnoses, and Develop a treatment plan that may include medication and other therapies

• Educate patients on healthy habits to prevent diseases and maintain good health.

Requirements:

• Master's of Nursing in PMHNP education

• Active PMHNP license in California

• DEA Certification

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
