Responsibilities
The Source Inspector (SI) performs inspection operations of in‑process or completed hardware, including dimensional and visual inspection. The SI reviews all related paperwork, verifies FAI’s according to AS9102, interprets blueprints and GD&T, and performs final, receiving, outside processing, and assembly inspections. The SI travels to supplier locations and operates with hand tools and gaging techniques.
Required Skills- Dimensional inspection of aerospace machined components
- FAI’s – AS9102
- Hand measurement tools and conventional inspection techniques
- MS Outlook and Excel
- GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and blueprint interpretation
- Valid driver’s license and auto insurance
- Experience with quality inspection tools and equipment
- Problem‑solving and RCCA
- Handle complex situations and solve problems
- Work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines
- Analyze technical and business information
- Teamwork, strong verbal and written communication, interaction via telephone and email
- Remain seated for up to 5 hours at a time
- Fluent English – reading and writing required
- Professionalism, integrity, and exceptional attention to detail
- 3+ years experience as a quality inspector or technician
- 3+ years in an aerospace manufacturing facility
- 3+ years in inspection duties, FAI’s, GD&T, and b/p interpretation
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products
- 12 days paid vacation first year, increasing with service years
