Research Associate II - Hayward, CA
Meadowhawk Biolabs is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Research Associate to work within the non-GLP Immunoanalytical Services Team at our Hayward, CA location to perform Ligand Binding, Cell based and Molecular Assays in a fast-paced team environment. The ideal candidate is driven, hardworking, willing to learn, dedicated, and passionate about science. Given that we are a newly launched Contract Research Organization (CRO) founded by an experienced team of industry veterans, this ground floor position offers unique opportunities for the successful candidate to contribute meaningfully to the creation and development of our services, expand their knowledge base by participation in multidisciplinary teams, and advance their career in capabilities and responsibilities.
KeyRoles and Responsibilities
- Execute routine lab procedures for analysis of large molecules such as antibodies, ADCs, therapeutic proteins and cytokines from complex biological matrices.
- Grow intermediate skills for the operation of platforms such as ELISA, MSD, flow cytometry, and/or PCR for quantitative analysis.
- Utilize analytical software to process data and evaluate results.
- Under some supervision, prepare and review data summaries for submission to clients.
- Proactively communicate analytical results and study status with Principal Investigator
- With some direction, participate in efforts to improve processes and streamline procedures
- Participate in collaborations within and across departments.
- Instill and adhere to all regulatory and good science practices and procedures as required as well as other company policies, practices and procedures.
- Serve as role model by living company values.
Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biochemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, or another related scientific field. Prior laboratory experience required (experience with MSD, PCR and Flow Cytometry platforms are a plus). Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered as substitution for the specific criteria outlined above.
Skills- Familiarity and basic competency in the use of Microsoft Office applications and broader computer skills in general
- Strong communication skills, both orally and written
- Adapts readily, willingly, and effectively to changes in assignments and priorities
- Highly organized and detail-oriented while working under tight timelines
- Ability to abide by established processes and procedures with an attention to detail
- Ability to self-organize, multi-task and to operate effectively with minimal day-to-day oversight
- Prior experience with ELISA, MSD, flow cytometry or PCR instrumentation is a plus

CompensationThe starting target salary for this position is between $69,800 - $89,500 per year). The specific rate for this position may vary and will be based upon factors including, but not limited to the individual’s experience, education, and skills. In addition to wages, Meadowhawk Biolabs provides a full benefits package upon hire date.
