We are seeking a highly motivated Bench Scientist, Discovery Biology to join our R&D team in Hayward, California. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the discovery of next-generation therapeutics while working in a collaborative, fast-paced, and scientifically driven environment.
Responsibilities- Independently design, execute, troubleshoot, and interpret experiments supporting target validation, mechanism-of-action (MoA) studies, and multispecific antibody screening and characterization
. - Design, optimize, and perform a broad range of cell-based assays. Hands-on experience with multicolor flow cytometry is required. Experience with high-dimensional (spectral) flow cytometry is a plus.
- Culture and maintain primary cells and establish engineered cell lines for research applications.
- Design and perform functional immune cell assays, including immune cell co-culture, T-cell activation, cytokine secretion, proliferation, and cytotoxicity assays.
- Analyze experimental data critically, draw scientific conclusions, and effectively communicate findings to cross-functional project teams.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of experimental procedures, data, and analyses in electronic laboratory notebooks (ELNs).
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues across global research sites.
- Ph.D. in Immunology, Cell Biology, or a related life science discipline.
- Strong expertise in immunology and cell biology techniques, including:
- Multicolor flow cytometry
- Immune cell co-culture and cytotoxicity assays
- T-cell functional assays (activation, proliferation, cytokine secretion)
- ELISA
- Primary cell culture including PBMC
- Standard molecular and biochemical techniques
- Demonstrated ability to independently design, execute, troubleshoot, and optimize experiments.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets and communicate scientific findings effectively.
- Excellent organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail and accurate documentation practices.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Self‑motivated, resourceful, adaptable, and able to prioritize effectively in a fast‑paced, timeline‑driven research environment.
- Experience in therapeutic multispecific antibody discovery, screening, characterization, and in vitro functional profiling
. - Experience in oncology and/or immunology drug discovery.
- Experience with high-dimensional (spectral) flow cytometry platforms (e.g., Cytek, BD FACSymphony).
- Experience with stable cell line generation, or lentiviral transduction is a plus.
- A strong record of scientific achievement demonstrated through peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations, posters, or meeting abstracts.
